When Colorado mailman Jeff Kramer met black Labrador Tashi years ago on his route in Boulder, the two took a shine to one another. Tashi always looked forward to the mailman’s daily visit, and Jeff always took the time to pet the dog.
“Tashi adores Jeff,” Karen Dimetrosky, Tashi’s owner, told Today Show. “He has always wagged his tail and pulled us over to his mail truck. He will now get off his bed and come greet Jeff at the door when he delivers a package.”
Tashi, though, is getting old and was having a hard time getting up and down the front porch steps to greet Jeff. So Jeff built a ramp for Tashi that lets the dog move in and out of her home easily.
Tashi uses the ramp everyday, and the family also appreciate it, since they don’t have to lift their 70-pound dog in and out of the house.
Jeff’s ramp also gives Tashi a degree of dignity and independence in her old age. But more importantly, it’s a sign of love and compassion between friends.
