The importance of sleep cannot be stressed enough. The amount and quality of sleep have a very real impact on our health so that’s why it’s incredibly frustrating when I can’t get myself to fall asleep. I’ll toss and turn, I’ll flip my pillow over and over, I’ll readjust my blanket endlessly… the madness goes on and on, and if I’m lucky, I’ll finally fall asleep within thirty minutes. And amazingly, all you need is a bar of soap! Ideally, it should be unscented but make sure that the soap is fresh (if it’s old and dry, try to scrape off a layer to reveal a fresh layer). It’s believed that as fresh soap dries, it releases ions that help alleviate the pain of RLS. While there are no scientific studies that back this method, there are countless testimonials from people who claim that they were able to sleep comfortably once they began using soap.
