3 cups of flour
1 glass of warm water
1 package of yeast
½ tablespoon of baking powder
½ a tablespoon of vegetable oil
½ a tablespoon of salt
A bit of extra-virgin olive oil
2 cups of flour (optional)
Preparation: Mix the yeast, water and flour in a big bowl until you get a homogenous mass, then leave it for 15 minutes until you notice bubbles on the surface. Now, add the oil and salt, then add 2 more cups of flour and knead for about 10 minutes. Leave the mixture to rest for 2 hours afterwards until the dough doubles in size.
Once the dough is done, cut it into 8 pieces and start kneading them into shape. Cover them afterwards with a filter paper and leave them for 30 minutes. After half an hour, stretch the dough with a rolling pin to form 12 cm. discs in diameter with 5 mm. width. Heat a bit of olive oil in a pan and add the discs one by one, frying them for about 2 minutes per side. If you prefer the oven, put the discs on a baking pan greased with oil and bake them for 10 minutes at 240 degrees.
