Bar S is recalling 370,000 pounds of its hot dogs and corn dogs due to concerns over possible listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The USDA said today that the Bar-S brand ready-to-eat, chicken and pork hot dog and corn dog items were produced July 10-13 and shipped to stores nationwide.
There have been no illnesses related to the recall and the company issued the recall as a precautionary measure, the announcement stated.
The USDA warns that consuming foods contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause a fever and infection that can be more risky to elderly people, babies and pregnant women.
