When you’re in love with someone, you never think about the prospect of what life would be like if you weren’t in love with them anymore. But sadly, many relationships come to an end, and many with good reason. In other words, if you’re in a toxic relationship, you’re better off on your own.
But how do you know if you’re in a toxic relationship? These pointers might help you figure it out. From communication issues, to passive aggressive behavior, to simply not wanting to be with the other person anymore, these 10 things will let you know that it’s time to move on.
#1. You stop to think, and can’t remember the last time you had a good time together.
#2. You can’t imagine a future together — or if you do, you don’t like what you see.
#3. Couples fight — but if you’re fighting more than you’re not, it’s time to call it quits.
#4. If you stay late at work or make plans with friends to avoid your partner, you’re probably not in love anymore.
#5. If one or both of you is frequently jealous, you might be headed for the end.
#6. If you find yourself being passive aggressive, that means you’re no longer interested in truly communicating. Lack of the communication is the relationship kiss of death.
#7. If you’re pissed off every time you interact, it’s time to let go.
#8. Do you feel like you’re an active participant in your relationship, or just a bystander? If it’s the latter, it’s time to move on.
#9. If your partner is overly critical, that’s not a good sign for your future.
